A Chance to Breathe

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

My classes are almost over! I had my last ethics class on Wednesday. I should receive an A for the class. I got a 97 on my second exam and a 95 on my final presentation. I just have one more assignment to email to the professor before June 28th. Not bad! My human development exam ends this Thursday. I am hoping for an A in this class as well. I received a 95 on my second exam and I have one more paper and exam for this class. Then I am done with school for the summer! It went by fast!

I have started housesitting a lot, which is good. That’s good money to save for school. I have also been in touch with one of my oldest bestest friends from high school. We saw The Proposal last night, which was realllllyyy cute. I recommend it (it is chick-flicky, but still cute).

No real info from Regis…kinda a bummer. They should really be better about getting info out to us early. I still need to buy a PDA of some sort, but am waiting for the specs. But I want it early so I can learn how to use it!

Now that school is ending I am sprucing up on my Italian, so that I do not lose it while I am out of school. Am re-starting Rosetta Stone, even though it starts me at a way more basic level than I am at, it is still helpful to perfect some of the more basic things. And I can do it pretty fast anyway. I know Italian won’t be as useful as Spanish with nursing, but you never know where it might come in handy. And I would love to be fluent enough to teach my kids someday.

Expect some small changes to the blog soon: “blogs I read” list and updates on the information. And I hope to be blogging more now that I am almost done with classes. I feel like I always say that, but now it should be more feasible. I do not think I have any “loyal” readers yet anyway, but hopefully soon!

p.s. Happy Father’s Day to all dad’s out there (especially mine…LOVE YOU DAD!)

Busy…but rockin’ it!

I received my first two exams back from both classes. And I did so well! I’m really happy especially because of the lack of time I had to study with taking 2 classes, working basically full time, and still trying to get some busy work done around the house, which has been last priority. But apparently despite the stress I was still pretty prepared because I got a 96 in ethics and a…100!!! in Human Development. I am so excited. I hope to continue to do this well with the remaining 2-3 weeks (I know…THAT’S IT!) of summer classes, but even if I drop a little it is always nice to have that cushion!

I also received my scrubs and nursing tools in the mail this week. That was very exciting. I got two pairs of scrub pants, two tops, a lab coat, a stethoscope (obviously I played with that immediately haha), kelly clamp, bandage scissors, Regis labels I have to sew onto the shirts and lab coat, and my very own nametage: Jennifer Vitti Regis College Student Nurse! Every little thing makes nursing school and what I’m doing feel that much more real. I actually hope to hear from them soon with a little bit more specifics on the PDA we need and orientation info, which is in August. I got financial aid stuff, which was great. I still need to go out and buy professional white shoes and a watch with a secondhand, but I’ll probably do that sometime in July after classes are done.

I’m also really excited for this weekend. Tomorrow I am working and running errands. Then Saturday I get to see Samm and we’re going to watch Life is Beautiful (so he can get an idea of who Benigni is) and then going to see ROBERTO BENIGNI in Boston…OMG I cannot even explain how excited I am. Then Sunday is Samm’s 21st birthday! I hope he has an amazing day :)

Hopefully I will have time to write next week and let you know how my fun weekend went!
